I am 64 and have been using Fioricet for years and dealing with all the above generic issues. I have spoken directly to many of the manufacturers and many pharmacists.
Mikart Fioricet is under audit last year but they can be bought online now.
QUALITEST is the most cheaply produced generic which is why so many insurance companies will cover it the most. Mikart is the manufacturer of MIA 110. Mikart, INC NDC 46672-059-10.
I agree that WESTWARD 787 is far better than Watson 3369 and I won’t even take QUALITEST. THE VERY BEST GENERIC is by a company called MikArt. It costs a little more to manufacture so it costs pharmacies a little more and they often won’t carry it. Here is the solution.
Find a mom n pop independent pharmacy in your area and use it.
They have the freedom to order what they want. CVS, KMart, Walgreen etc. are bound by corporate policy and can only order from particular regional middleman warehouses. For years I got the MikArt product from KMart. Now they want to charge me $75.00 per refill. I now order through and independent pharmacy and each refill is $25 without even using my insurance.
I actually was referred to this pharmacy after talking directly to MikArt which is located in the south. This past summer I got a quote from Kmart for Watson at $I79 per refill and found it at a mom n pop for $15.96. I would NOT BELIEVE there could be such a discrepency if I hadn’t lived it.
I have no clue what kind of politics are involved in all this but I was told by a chain employed pharmacist that the chain drugstores make a huge profit off their pharmacies. I am calling WestWard Monday because I have been told by some pharmacists that they are on backorder and just yesterday another pharmacist said the manufacturer is discontinuing them???

I have been using the Mikart Fioricet for about 5 years and I get it from my local CVS. Just recently they stopped using Mikart and are only using QUALTEST. I can tell a BIG difference between the two and the QUALTEST brand doesn’t work nearly as well as Mikart. I called Mikart like you suggested to find out what local pharmacy around me carries their brand. Mikart stated they could only give me distributors not specific pharmacies. So I’m stuck not sure what to do next. All of the pharmacies I’ve called on my own use QUALTEST (CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and a couple mom and pop shops. Any suggestions? This is very frustrating.

there is no codeine in MIA 110 tablets. It is simply Mikart’s generic version of Fioricet which contains butalbital, acetaminophen, and caffeine. No opiate.

Can no longer get blue Westward 787 Fiorcet. Bought Vantage 2355 makes me feel awful does not help headache but creates more intense one. What to do? Different manufacturers use different “inactive” ingredients, which may cause reactions similar to the one you’ve experienced with the generic Fiorocet from Vantage. Have you tried the generic Fioricet from Mikart Inc.? They manufacturer an oblong white pill with the imprint MIA 110. It is scored down the middle and blank on the other side. This pill contains (325 mg) of Acetaminophen, + (50 mg) of Butalbital + (40 mg) of caffeine.

I just got mine from walmart. It was Mikart and I agree, much better than others. I’m sure they would have given me a cheaper brand had they had it, I lucked out. By law, if they run out of the generics, they have to give you the real furicets. I spent years working at a pharmacy. If they tell you they’re out, point out that you need the brand name ones.
I am 63 yrs old and have been taking Fioricet to relieve Feraminal Stenosis Headache due to an Orthopedic Injury suffered while weightlifting in 2004. It’s remarkably effective for me.
4 years ago I moved and found a marvelous physician near me. After reviewing my scans etc she was more than happy to prescribe it for me. Over the years the pharmacy inside her medical ARTS building have been raising the.price, now to rather obscene levels.
I was having terrible allergic reactions ie wheezing, swollen tongue, watery itchy eyes etc. My doctor asked them to stock another formulation for me. They refused. They continued to provide Watson, whose pills would tend to crumble before it reached your mouth.
So I went to my local mom and pop and they were glad to fill my script with Mikart at a reasonable price. The change in not only its effectiveness, but the disappearance of allergic reaction was immediate and profound.

could you please tell me how much you spend for one 180 tab Mikart fioricet ? There are a stock problems in mikart but some fioricet capsules are easier to get.
I was told by my mail order pharamcy that that Mikart is no longer manufacturing generic fioricets. For years they ordered it special for me and said they can not get it any longer because Mikart stopped making it. I contacted Mikart several times but no one got back to me. Does anyone know if this isn’t true??? They where the best ones and only ones that worked for me.
